I have been needing to update this character sheet forever. I changed some of Rhys' design a bit to make things flow a bit better, but the biggest change is his tail. I've been drawing it as a sort of retractable apparatus for some time now and figured I should go ahead and make it official. The feathers fold back to lay alongside the tail when not extended in flight. Because of this his tail looks a bit bulkier from the above view due to the way they layer, but from the side it looks about like any sort of feline tail, though it is rather stiff and limited in maneuverability compared to the tail of an unhampered feline.

Character Species Combination: Crested Hawk Eagle/Pantanal Cat (Nisaetus cirrhatus/Leopardus braccatus)
Gender: Male
Character Personality: Rhys is an inquisitive youngster who constantly feels the itch to explore the world beyond his Aerie. His parents often had a hard time keeping track of him as a hatchling and it was not uncommon for a neighbor to turn up grasping a squirming, bemused looking Rhys in their talons. His sharp mind brims with questions and he finds it difficult to maintain interest in the mundane tasks of daily life in Twistoult. He leaps at any chance to escape the aerie to fetch something for the older gryphons, though many learn to avoid asking for his help as he will tend to wander about the lands of Windsonde for hours instead of quickly completing his task.
When it comes to social interaction, he is notably polite and often says very little--he would much rather hear what you have to say and will only speak his mind when asked. This sometimes leads to other gryphons feeling he is dull upon first meeting him, which has led to him becoming a bit of a loner as few have taken the time to get to know him. However, if you do manage to become a friend of his you will find that he can be a very energetic conversationalist, especially when it comes to topics that fascinate him such as exploration or humans. He isn't sure what he thinks about humans yet, but loves to share what he's learned through secret observation.
He is of average gryphon height, girth, and strength, and thus comparable in body size to a lion. The only area he excels in physically is flight. While perhaps not the swiftest gryphon around, his stamina and endurance when it comes to flight is relatively high thanks to his many excursions and he can travel very long distances before tiring. He also feels very at home on the ground and enjoys spending time perfecting his earth-bound hunting technique and exploring caves where he has found a number of interesting trinkets for Queen Tullkina.

I love the tail design; not only is it a very smooth, plausible way to combine cat/bird tails, it looks appealing too. Rhys is such a handsome gryph.
